5 Things I Wish I Knew When I Was New to Running
Never thought I'd willingly choose to be a runner and enjoy it, but here we are. WHO IS SHE?!
Those first few months were tough, but mainly because I winged it and hoped for the best. Now we are ✨thriving✨ and making grown-up choices.
If you're wanting to dip your toe into the running craze, but unsure of where to start, I made this blog post for you 🫶🏻.
The 5 Things I wish I new sooner:
⚡️Buy quality running shoes. You deserve a little treat. It's called self-care. Ain't nobody got time for shin splints and blisters.
⚡️Let the easy runs be easy. You're not an NFL linebacker, k. I admire how hyped you are about going fast fast, but like just chill. Your easy runs are meant to feel easy for a reason.
⚡️It's okay if you have to slow down or walk. I encourage this, honestly. You can't recover well if you're living in zone 5 every time you run.
⚡️Chafe sticks = Real MVP. IYKYK.
⚡️Eat more carbs! More movement means more food boo. We left that "eat less and move more" mentality in the 90s. You wanna train like athlete, you better start eating like one too.
