Your Run Isn’t Done Until You’ve Refueled

The work ain’t over until you’ve refueled.

“But Kristen, the anabolic window has been debunked”.

Cool. That’s fine. The big picture I can’t help but think about? >> Why are we encouraging women to skip meals anyway?

There is always going to be nuance to this topic, mk? But I am team EAT THE FOOD.

Refueling after your runs ensures you maintain steady blood sugar, you recover well and your glycogen stores are replenished. You’re telling me you’d rather have dry mouth after a run instead of inhaling a popsicle and Uncrustable? Can’t relate 😂.

Don’t forget to re-hydrate too. Water. Electrolytes. Repeat.

Having a fueling strategy is important if you want to crush your performance goals. This should include a meal to re-fuel after your training.

Disclaimer:

Meal timing won’t make a difference if you’re still choosing to eat like a toddler all day. Total calories eaten daily will be most important. This blog post encourages active women to EAT.
